The story of Club Performance

Meet the people behind it
The people behind it

Football people from Marienlyst and Middelfart

Club Performance was started by five people who have spent many years in Danish football: on the training pitch, in the director of football's office and in the boardroom. Now they've joined forces on this.

How it started

Sunday evening went on spreadsheets

Most systems are built from the outside: a software company makes a product and sells it into a club.

Club Performance was built inside a club where GPS data was spread across several systems, and what the coach needed on Monday morning was only ready late on Sunday.

MON 07:30

On Monday morning the numbers are ready

Data from training and matches arrives on its own. When the staff come in, load, matches and risk are together on one screen.

How it came about

Four steps from spreadsheet to platform

  1. First

    One spreadsheet too many

GPS data from training and matches had to be put together by hand, every week.

  2. Then

Built and used in the same club

Every feature was tried out on real sessions and matches before it was finished.

  3. Next

    First club in production

The first club started using the platform with its own player data.

  4. Today

    More systems, more modules

Three GPS systems are pulled in automatically, and game model, strength and physio booking can be added.

The game model started as OBQ's own dashboard

At OBQ the club's playing philosophy already lived in a dashboard. It became the Game model module, where the principles turn into KPIs measured match by match. The strength module was developed together with the physical coaches of the U19 team.

Middelfart Boldklub
Middelfart · First club in production

The first club to take the leap

Middelfart Boldklub was the first club to put the platform into production. Training sessions and matches are pulled in automatically from the club's GPS system, and the staff follow the whole squad's load week by week.

And from everyday life in every club

New players don't get lost

If a player shows up in the GPS data that the platform doesn't know, the numbers are kept until you've linked the name to the right player card.

No red alarms after the break

After a summer break the first session looks like a huge spike in load. The season rollover resets the calculation, so the whole squad doesn't light up red.
